Reviews and Ratings
I had a wonderful one-night stay at the hotel. The rooms offered lovely views over the countryside and had everything I needed, but I felt the price could have been more competitive. The service, led by the efficient and cheery Robert, was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The location was perfect for exploring the Scottish Borders, with a refurbished and welcoming atmosphere. The dining experience was delightful, especially the breakfast, and the facilities were top-notch.
Staying up several flights of winding stairs at the top of the building was a huge and very nice experience at this hotel. The rooms, equipped with all necessary amenities, provided comfort, although they felt a bit cold in contrast to the reception atmosphere.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room, although a bit tired, was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable with a lovely view of the hotel garden. The location was ideal for a relaxing getaway, offering serene views and easy access to local attractions. The dining experience was excellent, with delicious and beautifully presented meals. However, the room's direct location above the function room was a downside, and the dining area not being in the main building was a bit inconvenient.
The hotel was meant to be an executive suite for a special anniversary, but it felt more like a school dormitory with three of us squeezed in. The room was enormous and perfect for our needs, despite the initial expectations.
